Conveying Diverter Valves

3Sigma Systems offers the Pneumatic Conveying Diverter Valve. This type of diverter valve is used to reroute material from one convey line to another.  Pneumatic Conveying Diverters are available in cast iron, cast aluminum or cast stainless steel.  An internal flap plate is fabricated of mild steel or stainless steel, with a polyurethane rubber wiper seal.  This diverter valve’s parabolic shape provides a good seal without any gaps.  The pneumatic conveying diverter valve is operated either by pneumatic air cylinder, electric linear actuator, manual lever arm or rotary type actuators. The Pneumatic Conveying Diverter Valves come standard with ASA bolt hole pattern flanges or spigots as specified by the customer, either OD tube or nominal pipe.  The diverter valves are available in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 inches.

Plug Diverter Valves

3Sigma Systems offers Plug Diverter Valves by Carolina Conveying. These diverter valves are heavy-duty alternatives to the flap type conveying diverter.  These diverter valves have an internal plug that rotates 150 degrees to reroute material from one leg to the other.  The round hole in the plug matches the round blow through ports, resulting in a very smooth transition.  Plug Diverter Valves work well on applications with large particles that may get caught in a flap type diverter, which could cause a leak to the dead leg.  The plug diverter valve is better suited for more abrasive products, since there is no rubber seal.  A pneumatic rotary actuator is used to rotate the plug as standard, but electric actuators or hand cranks could be substituted. The diverter valves come standard with spigots as specified by the customer: flanged, OD tube or nominal pipe.  Sizes are available in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 inches.

Gravity Diverter Valves

3Sigma Systems offers Gravity Diverter Valves by Carolina Conveying. This type of diverter valve is used to reroute product from one line to another. Gravity Diverter Valves are only used in gravity flow applications. The diverter valve’s body is fabricated from mild steel or stainless steel.  The unit also has an internal flap plate that also mild steel or stainless steel, with a polyurethane rubber wiper seal.  A bucket type Gravity Diverter Valve with an internal chute that moves back and forth to divert product flow is used for more abrasive applications. The Gravity Diverter Valve is operated either by pneumatic air cylinder, electric Gravity Diverter Valve linear actuator, manual lever arm or rotary type actuators. The diverter valves can be manufactured to any size or divert angle.  Gravity Diverter Valves are available as 2-way (one inlet and two outlets) or 3-way (one inlet and three outlets).  Typical divert angles of the valves are 30x30 and 0x30, but specific angles can be manufactured. The valve’s flanges are round, square or rectangular.

Scale / Weigh Diverter Valves

3Sigma Systems offers Scale Diverter valves by Carolina Conveying. These special valves have a cast body and two fabricated flap shaft assemblies with rubber wiper seals. Scale Diverter Valves are used to reroute product from a horizontal convey line into the top of a hopper or silo. Material bypasses the hopper due to the two flaps in the down position. Material is diverted downward into the hopper when the flaps are in the up position, while the displaced air in the hopper is routed through the outlet port. Scale Diverter Valves get the name due to hoppers often being on load cells. Scale Diverter Valves are only used for dilute phase systems. The standard valve features an air cylinder, solenoid valve and two limit switches. Scale Diverter Valves are available in 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 inches.
